Community Description: | A journal for those with Type 2, aka 'adult onset' diabetes |
I've created this journal as a place where type 2 diabetics can talk about the daily progress of their disease, the trials and tribulations, etc. For members to post information about new treatments, for the newly diagnosed to ask questions, and for the members to share their experiences for the purposes of just venting ;-) and helping others. For asking for help and for offering advice, for sharing of experiences, and all that good stuff.
The only thing I want to be careful of is that members respond with suggestions that are clearly stated as just that - opinions and suggestions. Unless you are an M.D. or a DO, an RN or a diabetes educator and can provide your credentials, please do not offer "medical advice", or suggest to people that their physicians are incompetent - that would be grounds for a reprimand and possible removal from the group. I know it's a fine line, just think about how you state your opinion.
One more reminder that everyBODY handles diabetes differently - what is "the" answer for one or many is not necessarily "the" answer for all. Please be tolerant, and please try not to over-sell 'your' perfect solution ;-) As long as you post with an attitude of respect for your fellow members, you'll be fine, I'm sure.
